About the Program
Antonia Juhasz argues that the oil industry today has as much power as Standard Oil had in the late 19th and early 20th Centuries and says that with this power these companies have been able to manipulate the price of oil while keeping their role largely hidden from public view. She says that the five or six of the largest oil companies today need to be broken up the way Standard Oil was in 1911 and that there should be significant regulation of the oil markets.
