Maya Angelou presented a collection of essays that range from the personal to the inspirational.  The author of  "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings" discussed her first collection of essays in ten years with Patricia Cohen, cultural reporter for The New York Times at The Times Center in New York City.

Maya Angelou (1928-2014)

Maya Angelou, who died on May 28, 2014, at the age of 86, authored numerous books including, "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings" and "The Heart of a Woman." She recited her poem, "On the Pulse of the Morning," at the inauguration of President Bill Clinton in 1993.  For more, visit: mayaangelou.com.
