About the Program
David McCullough chronicles the military side of the American Revolution in his new book, "1776." The author describes the role the weather played during the winter months, George Washington's uncertainty of American victory, and the morale of the troops on both sides of the war. This event took place at Mount Vernon Estate and Gardens in Virginia.

David McCullough is the author of "Truman," "John Adams," "Brave Companions," "Mornings on Horseback," "The Path Between the Seas," "The Great Bridge," and "The Johnstown Flood." Mr. McCullough received the Pulitzer Prize in 1993, for "Truman," the Francis Parkman Prize, and the Los Angeles Times Book Award, and is twice winner of the National Book Award, for history and for biography.
