Walter Borneman recounts the War of 1812 that pitted the United States against Britain.  The author recounts several moments of the War, which include Washington, DC set aflame, naval battles on Lake Champlain, and Andrew Jackson's command of American forces at the final major battle of the War, the Battle of New Orleans, which took place on January 8, 1815.
