About the Program

Iraq War veteran Phil Klay discusses his collection of short stories about soldiers who fought in Iraq and Afghanistan and the experiences they had while back in the U.S. between deployments.  During this event hosted by Barnes & Noble Booksellers in Santa Monica, California, Mr. Klay is in conversation with Anthony Swofford, a veteran of the Gulf War and author of "Jarhead."  Mr. Klay was awarded the 2014 National Book Award for fiction for "Redeployment."
