About the Program

The 2013 Guggenheim-Lehrman Prize in Military History, worth $50,000, was awarded on March 17th, 2014, in New York City.  Finalists for the prize read selections from their books prior to the award winner being announced.  The finalists were: Rick Atkinson, author of "The Guns at Last Light"; Alan Guelzo, author of "Gettysburg"; Roger Knight author of "Britain Against Nepoleon"; Peter Mansoor, author of "Surge"; Andrew Jackson O'Shaughnessy, author of "The Men Who Lost America"; and Richard Overy, author of "The Bombing War."  This event was held at The New-York Historical Society.
