About the Program
From the 2013 Harlem Book Fair a conversation on drug use and laws between E.R. Shipp, Pulitzer-Prize winning columnist and journalist-in-residence at Morgan State University and Carl Hart, author of High Price: A Neuroscientist's Journey of Self-Discovery That Challenges Everything You Know About Drugs and Society.
E.R. Shipp is the co-author of Outrage: The Story Behind the Tawana Brawley Hoax. She is a former editor for the New York Times, ombudsman for The Washington Post, and columnist for The New York Daily News, where she was the recipient of a Pulitzer Prize for commentary in 1996.
Carl Hart is an associate professor of psychology and psychiatry at Columbia University. Mr. Hart is also a substance abuse research scientist at the New York State Psychiatric Institute and a member of the National Advisory Council on Drug Abuse. For more information, visit highpricethebook.com.
