Gen. Stanley McChrystal (Ret.) discusses his memoir, "My Share of the Task," with author and journalist Mark Bowden. In the book, the former commander of U.S. forces in Afghanistan recounts the major turning points in his 34-year military career, which ended in 2010. This event is hosted by the Free Library of Philadelphia.
Gen. Stanley McChrystal (Ret.)
Stanley McChrystal, a graduate of West Point, retired from the U.S. Army in July 2010 as a four-star general. Along with commanding U.S. forces in Afghanistan, Gen. McChrystal also served as commander of the Joint Special Operations Command and as director of the Joint Staff. He is the co-founder of McChrystal Group, a consulting firm, and, since August 2010, has been a senior fellow at Yale University's Jackson Institute for Global Affairs.
