About the Program
From the 31st annual Key West Literary Seminar in Key West, Florida a panel entitled, "The Biographer as Autobiographer and the Limits of Objectivity," featuring authors Jay Parini, Brenda Wineapple, Edmund White and Phyllis Rose. The panel is moderated by James Atlas, founder and president of the publishing house, Atlas & Co.
Jay Parini
Jay Parini is the author of many books, including biographies of William Faulkner, John Steinbeck, and Robert Frost. He is an English and creative writing professor at Middlebury College.
Phyllis Rose
Phyllis Rose's books include, The Year of Reading Proust: A Memoir in Real Time.
Edmund White
Edmund White is the author of numerous books, including biographies of Marcel Proust, Jean Genet, and Arthur Rimbaud. He is a creative writing professor at Princeton University.
Brenda Wineapple
Brenda Wineapple is the author of several books, including Sister Brother: Gertrude and Leo Stein and Hawthorne: A Life.
