About the Program

Mark Shriver recounts the life of his father Sargent Shriver (1915-2011), the founder of the Peace Corps and director of President Lyndon Johnson's Office of Economic Opportunity.  Mr. Shriver recalls his upbringing as one of five children, his parent's fifty-six year marriage, and his relationship with his father.  Mark Shriver speaks at the College of Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Mark Shriver served as a Democratic member of the Maryland House of Delegates from 1995 to 2003 and is currently the senior vice president of U.S. Programs at Save the Children.
