About the Program
Linda Davis appeared on Booknotes in 1998 to talk about her biography, "Badge of Courage: The Life of Stephen Crane." She described Crane's life and how and why he wrote "The Red Badge of Courage," the story of an ordinary soldier in the Civil War. Ms. Davis also talked about the challenges he met to become a published author in the 19th century.
