About the Program
Jill Biden talks about her children's book about a girl whose father has gone off to war. The story was inspired by Mrs. Biden's granddaughter, Natalie. During this event, hosted by the USO at the DC Armory, Mrs. Biden reads to children of Washington, DC National Guard members.

Jill Biden, Second Lady of the United States, teaches English full time at Northern Virginia Community College. In 2011, along with First Lady Michelle Obama, Dr. Biden launched the White House's Joining Forces initiative to bring awareness and support to veterans and military families.
