About the Program

Nikki Haley, Republican Governor of South Carolina, recounts her life and political career.  Gov. Haley, the daughter of Sikh parents who immigrated to the United States and settled in Bamberg, South Carolina, describes her childhood and the prejudice her family faced.  The Governor recalls her political ascendancy, first elected to the South Carolina House of Representatives in 2004; she was elected South Carolina’s first female governor on November 2, 2010.  Nikki Haley speaks with Liz Cheney at the American Enterprise Institute in Washington, D.C.
