"Consent of the Networked: The Worldwide Struggle For Internet Freedom"

Rebecca MacKinnon

About the Program

Rebecca MacKinnon, Internet policy specialist and senior fellow at the New America Foundation, argues that Internet users' rights are being infringed upon by governments and corporations.  The author points to the changes in Facebook's privacy policies and the demands by certain governments for Google to censor information as examples of the pressures on users to concede their personal freedoms on-line.  Rebecca MacKinnon speaks at the World Affairs Council of Northern California in San Francisco.
