The acclaimed British historian's latest volume on World War II explores the great conflict from the personal point of view.  Using detailed stories of the lives of everyday people, Mr. Hastings reveals the individual hardships of civilians who struggled to survive.  He also details lesser-explored battles overlooked by history.  He discusses his findings with the U.S. Editor of The Daily Telegraph, Toby Harnden.

About the Authors

Max Hastings

Max Hastings is the author of several books, including "Winston's War," “Armageddon: The Battle for Germany, 1944-1945,” and “Overlord: D-Day and the Battle for Normandy.”  Mr. Hastings is a former foreign correspondent and a former editor of Britain’s Daily Telegraph and Evening Standard.  He was named Britain's Journalist of the Year in 1982 and Editor of the Year in 1988.
