About the Program
Kathryn McGarr recounts the political career of Robert Strauss. An attorney in a Washington law firm, Mr. Strauss was well connected inside the Beltway and served as Chairman of the Democratic National Committee from 1972-1977, ambassador to the Soviet Union in 1991, and as an advisor to several Presidents. Ms. McGarr examines Robert Strauss’ political relationships and influence, which although deemed by the media, “Mr. Democrat,” were far reaching and crossed party lines. Kathryn McGarr speaks at Politics & Prose Bookstore in Washington, D.C.
