About the Program
A panel discussion of Joseph Heller's novel, Catch-22 in recognition of the 50th annniversary of the book's publication. The panelists include Robert Gottlieb, the book's editor, Mike Nichols, the director of the film adaptation of the book, and Christopher Buckley, a friend of Joseph Heller and author of the foreword to the annniversary edition. The panel is moderated by Leslie Stahl, correspondent for 60 Minutes and takes place at Symphony Space in New York City.
Robert Gottlieb
Robert Gottlieb is the former editor in chief of Knopf, Simon and Schuster and The New Yorker. He is the author of several books, including George Balanchine: The Ballet Maker.
Mike Nichols
Mike Nichols is the director of numerous films, including The Graduate, for which he received an Academy Award for best director. Mr. Nichols is the director of the film adaptation of Catch-22.
Christopher Buckley
Chirstopher Buckley is a journalist, editor and novelist. His books include, The White House Mess, Thank You for Smoking and Losing Mum and Pup. He is a columnist for The Daily Beast and editor-in-chief of ForbesLife magazine.
