About the Program

From the 2011 Brooklyn Book Festival, a panel on labor.  The panelists include, Clarence Taylor, Reds at the Blackboard: Communism, Civil Rights and the NYC Teachers Union, William Adler, The Man Who Never Died: The Life, Times, and Legacy of Joe Hill, and Brian Purnell, Black Power at Work: Community Control, Affirmative Action, and the Construction Industry.  The panel is moderated by Steven Greenhouse, author of The Big Squeeze: Tough Times for the American Worker and takes place at St. Francis College in Brooklyn, New York.

About the Authors

Clarence Taylor

Clarence Taylor is the author of numerous books, including Knocking at Our Own Door: Milton A. Galamison and the Struggle to Integrate New York City Schools.  He is a history professor at Baruch College.
