"Time for Outrage"

Stephane Hessel

About the Program

Stephane Hessel, a 93-year old former United Nations speechwriter, discusses his essay that calls for popular outrage against the world's governments and economic markets, which the author contends impinge upon freedoms.  The essay was inspired by a 2008 speech Mr. Hessel gave to commemorate the French Resistance.   Stephane Hessel speaks with Nikil Saval, assistant editor of n+1 journal at Maison Francaise at Columbia University in New York City.
