2011 PEN World Voices Festival: The Writer’s Imagination and the Imagination of the State

Salman Rushdie et al.

About the Program

In honor of a PEN conference organized by Norman Mailer 25 years ago, writers discuss how governments can work together across national boundaries, as writers do, to improve the world's troubles.  Participants include Toni Morrison, Salman Rushdie, Anthony Appiah, John Ralston Saul, and Dale Peck.  This event was part of the 2011 PEN World Voices Festival, held annually in New York City.
