About the Program
A panel discussion of philosopher and economist F.A. Hayek’s The Constitution of Liberty, first published in 1960 and recently republished by the University of Chicago Press. The panelists include George Soros, founder and chairman of the Open Society Foundations, Richard Epstein, law professor at New York University Law School and Bruce Caldwell, editor of The Collected Works of F.A. Hayek. The panel is hosted by the Cato Institute in Washington, D.C.
Richard Epstein
Richard Epstein is the author of several books, including How Progressives Rewrote the Constitution and Overdose: How Excessive Government Regulation Stifles Pharmaceutical Innovation. He is currently a law professor at New York University School of Law.
Bruce Caldwell
Bruce Caldwell is the general editor of The Collected Works of F.A. Hayek. He is a professor emeritus in the economics department at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro and former president of the History of Economics Society. Mr. Caldwell is currently the director of the Center for the History of Political Economy at Duke University.
