About the Program

The editors and three contributors to the book. "The People Reloaded," talk about the democracy movement in Iran and its prospects for success.  The contributors participating are: Hamid Dabashi, professor of Iranian Studies and Comparative Literature at Columbia University; Ervand Abrahamian, professor of Iranian and Middle Eastern History and Politics at Baruch College (CUNY); and Golbarg Bashi, instructor of Middle Eastern Studies at Rutgers University.  This event was held at Columbia University in New York City.

Nader Hashemi (ed.)

Nader Hashemi teaches at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver.  He is the author of "Islam, Secularlism and Liberal Democracy."
