How Enemies Become Friends: The Sources of Stable Peace

Charles Kupchan

About the Program

Charles Kupchan looks at how nations escape geopolitical competition and replace hostility with friendship.  He argues that diplomacy, not economic interdependence, is the currency of peace and that concessions and strategic accommodation promote the mutual trust needed to build a stable world.  Professor Kupchan spoke at  an event hosted by the Naples Council on World Affairs in Naples, Florida.
