Tim Wu presents a history of media consolidation.  The author looks at how film, radio, television and the telephone began open to experimentation only to be closed due to corporate control throughout each industry's' maturation.  Mr. Wu questions if the internet will follow this same path.  Tim Wu discusses his book with Nicholas Lemann and Richard John at Columbia University Journalism School in New York City.

Tim Wu

Tim Wu is a professor at Columbia Law School.  He writes for Slate and has contributed to several other publications, including The New Yorker and The Washington Post.  Mr. Wu is chairman of Free Press, a media reform organization and a fellow of the New America Foundation.  For more information, visit timwu.org.
