About the Program
Akbar Ahmed and his team visited Muslim communities in 75 towns and cities in the U.S. to find out the views of people there on various topics including religion, terrorism, and American politics. He presents his findings in his latest book, "Journey Into America." This talk was hosted by Politics and Prose Bookstore in Washington, DC.
Akbar Ahmed
Akbar Ahmed is chairman of the Islamic studies program at American University in Washington, D.C. A native of Pakistan, he served in that country's civil service and was high commissioner of Pakistan to the United Kingdom. Prof. Ahmed is the author of many books, including "Journey into Islam," "Islam Under Seige," and "Islam Today."
