U.S. History

Theodore Roosevelt's History of the United States

Daniel Ruddy

About the Program

Daniel Ruddy presents a selection of historical writing by former president Theodore Roosevelt.  An avid student of history, Roosevelt's writing spans America's past from the Revolutionary War to the early 20th century.  The former president's writing was marked by his opinions of historical figures, which included Andrew Jackson, "not more than half civilized" and his contemporary Woodrow Wilson, "rotten through and through."  Daniel Ruddy presents selections of Roosevelt's history of the United States at BookPeople Bookstore in Austin, Texas.
