About the Program
John Lukacs, historian and author of over thirty books, addresses questions about World War II that remain for him sixty-five years after the end of the War. Among several topics, Mr. Lukacs focuses on the American response to Germany and Japan, Hitler's thinking throughout the war, and whether the Cold War was unavoidable. President Harry Truman officially proclaimed the end of hostilities in World War II on December 31, 1946. John Lukacs presents his answers to these questions and others at Barnes & Noble in Devon, Pennsylvania.
