About the Program
The president of Earth Policy Institute presents his thesis on how best to save mankind. Beyond stabilizing global warming, he advocates many actions, including maximizing use of the world's land to better feed the world population, stabilizing the world's population through world-wide access to family planning methods and redesigning cities. Lester Brown
Lester Brown is president and senior researcher of Earth Policy Institute, a nonprofit research organization based in Washington, DC. He is more widely known as the founder and former president of the Worldwatch Institute, whose board he now chairs. He is also responsible for launching the State of the World reports, now published in over thirty languages. During his career, Mr. Brown has been honored with a number of awards, including the United Nations Environment Prize, the MacArthur "Genius" Fellowship and Japan's Blue Planet Prize.
