About the Program
Taylor Branch recalls his eight years of private meetings with President Bill Clinton between 1993 and 2001 in The Clinton Tapes: Wrestling History with the President. Mr. Branch and the former president would meet monthly and discuss current events with the intent of creating an oral history that would present an insider's view of the American presidency. Taylor Branch discusses his book with John Harris, editor in chief of Politico and author of The Survivor: Bill Clinton in the White House. Recently, The Christian Science Monitor, Los Angeles Times, Kansas City Star, and Chicago Tribune selected The Clinton Tapes as one of their notable books of 2009.
