About the Program
Editor-in-Chief of Wired and author of "The Long Tail" tackles the next revolution in business, which is making more money by initially providing products for free. This is most relevant in the software industry and digital media, because it can be so easy to steal what is readily available on another's computer and/or on the web. The idea, says Mr. Anderson, is to get one addicted to the stolen/free product, then charge for it. But Mr. Anderson foresees other instances, like charging for club membership to stores where up to five items per visit are free.
