About the Program

Elizabeth Norman and Michael Norman recount America's first large scale land battle of WWII.  The conflict which occurred on the Philippine peninsula, Bataan, from January to April of 1942 between Japanese, American and Filipino soldiers resulted in the surrender of 76,000 American and Filipino soldiers who endured a forty-one month imprisonment, which included hard labor and torture.  This event was hosted by Politics & Prose Bookstore in Washington, DC.
