About the Program
According to the Center for Disease Control, HIV/AIDS is the leading cause of death for African-American women aged 25-34. Marvelyn Brown recounts her diagnoses as HIV Positive at the age of 19 and what she felt was the subsequent alienation by her family and community. Ms. Brown, now 24 years old, works with HIV/AIDS awareness groups to educate people about the disease. This event was hosted by Davis Kidd Booksellers in Nashville.
