About the Program
Historian Jennet Conant recounts the military life of children's author Roald Dahl ("Charlie and the Chocolate Factory") who was enlisted by the British government in 1942 to plant pro-war propoganda in America in the attempts to discredit isolationists and encourage the United States to enter World War II. This event was hosted by Borders bookstore in Washington, DC.
Jennet Conant is the author of numerous books, including "Tuxedo Park: A Wall Street Tycoon and the Secret Palace of Science That Change The Course of World War II." Ms. Conant was formerly a journalist and wrote for several publications, including The New York Times, Newsweek, and Vanity Fair.
