About the Program

Mark Edmundson chronicles the final years of Sigmund Freud's life, which included his escape from Vienna as Hitler’s army approached, and the publication of his final book, "Moses and Monotheism."  Mr. Edmundson reports that Freud became focused on the occurrence of fundamentalism and fascism in religion and politics.  Sigmund Freud died on September 23, 1939.  Mark Edmundson speaks at the University of Virginia Bookstore in Charlottesville, Virginia.
