About the Program

Kiron Skinner and Martin and Annelise Anderson compiled more than one thousand of Ronald Reagan's letters to reveal the inner thoughts of the 40th President. For this event, Ms. Skinner and the Andersons are joined by former Secretary of State George Shultz in a discussion about President Reagan and his legacy. Ronald Reagan died on June 5, 2004.

About the Authors

Kiron Skinner

Kiron Skinner is an associate professor of international relations at Carnegie Mellon University and fellow at the Hoover Institution. She is the author or coauthor of several books, including The Strategy of Campaigning.

Martin Anderson

Martin Anderson was an economic policy adviser to President Ronald Reagan. He is the author or coauthor of numerous books, including Reagan's Secret War: The Untold Story of His Fight to Save the World from Nuclear Disaster.

Annelise Anderson

Annelise Anderson was a senior policy adviser to the Reagan presidential campaign and associate director of President Reagan's Office of Management and Budget. She is the coauthor of several books, including Reagan's Path to Victory.
