Mr. Keegan was the defense editor of The Daily Telegraph (London) and the author of many books: "The Face of Battle" (1976), "Who's Who in Military History: From 1453 to the Present Day" (co-authored by Andrew Wheatcroft, 1976), "World Armies" (1979), "The Nature of War" (co-authored by Joseph Darrcott, 1981), "Six Armies in Normandy: From D-Day to the Liberation of Paris" (1982), "Soldiers" (co-authored by Richard Homes, 1985), "The Mask of Command" (1987), "The Price of Admiralty: The Evolution of Naval Warfare" (1988), "The Second World War" (1989), "A History of Warfare" (1993), "Fields of Battle: The Wars for North Ameirca" (1995), "The Battle for History: Re-fighting World War II" (1995), "The First World War" (1998), "War and Our World: The Reith Lectures 1998" (1998), "An Illustrated History of the First World War" (2001), "Churchill: A Life" (2002), and "Intelligence in War: Knowledge of the Enemy from Napoleon to Al-Queda" (2003). Mr. Keegan passed away on August 2, 2012.
