From the American Philosophical Society in Philadelphia, author Dennis Brindell Fradin discusses his book “The Signers.” The book profiles each of the fifty-six men who signed the Declaration of Independence. According to Mr. Fradin, the 56 men who signed their names to the document knew they were putting their reputations, their fortunes, and their lives on the line by declaring their support for independence. During his presentation, Mr. Fradin shares brief anecdotes about some of the signers, including Benjamin Franklin and John and Samuel Adams. The book also includes the text of the Declaration of Independence and its history.
