"Give 'War and Peace' a Chance: Tolstoyan Wisdom for Troubled Times"

Andrew Kaufman

About the Program

Andrew Kaufman argues that we can learn a lot about living through troubled times, courage, and family from Tolstoy's 1,500-page masterpiece about the Napoleanic wars.  Prof. Kaufman is the creator of "Books Behind Bars" and co-teaches a 14-week course about Tolstoy and Dostoevsky at Beaumont Juvenile Correctional Center in Virginia.  This event was held at Politics & Prose Bookstore in Washington, DC.
