From the 18th annual Texas Book Festival in Austin, Texas, historians describe what the city of Dallas was like in the days and months before President John F. Kennedy was assassinated there. 

About the Authors

Steve Davis

Steve Davis is a curator at the Wittliff Collections at Texas State University-San Marcos. He is a Dallas native and the author of two books on Texas culture: Texas Literary Outlaws: Six Writers in the Sixties and Beyond and J. Frank Dobie: A Liberated Mind.

Bill Minutaglio

Mr. Minutaglio is a professor at the University of Texas at Austin and has worked at the Dallas Morning News, Houston Chronicle, and San Antonio Express-News.  Mr. Minutaglio's writings have appeared in The New York Times, Esquire, Newsweek and Texas Monthly, among others. He's written books on George W.
