"Your Fatwa Does Not Apply Here: Untold Stories from the Fight Against Muslim Fundamentalism"

Karima Bennoune

About the Program

Karima Bennoune profiles Muslims around the world, including in the U.S., who are fighting against Islamic fundamentalism.  She says that many of these people battle on multiple fronts, not only against the fundamentalists, but also against rightwing anti-Muslim crusaders and liberal activists who view fundamentalism as an authentic expression of popular opinion in Muslim societies.  Prof. Bennoune spoke at Commonwealth Club of California in San Francisco.
