About the Program
In 1978 Stephen Hess surveyed 450 journalists who were covering the federal government for U.S. news organizations. Over thirty years later, the author, senior fellow emeritus in Governance Studies at the Brookings Institution, revisits 283 of his subjects, to report on what has changed in their respective careers and in American journalism in general. Stephen Hess speaks at Politics & Prose Bookstore in Washington, D.C.
