About the Program

Cynthia Helms, widow of former CIA director Richard Helms, recounts her life.  Ms. Helms who grew up in England and served in World War II, remembers her introduction to the world of secret intelligence via her husband, the internal politics of the CIA, and the couples time spent in Tehran as Richard Helms served as American Ambassador prior to the Iranian Revolution.  Cynthia Helms speaks at the British Embassy in Washington, D.C.
