After Words

After Words: Michael Austin, "That's Not What They Meant!: Reclaiming the Founding Fathers from America's Right Wing," hosted by David Fontana, George Washington University Law School

About the Program

Professor Austin analyzes dozens of speeches, books and articles by conservative commentators to expose what he calls the "deep historical flaws in their use of America's founding history."  He also examines the Founding Fathers' quotes in context to present what he believes is a more accurate picture of their meaning.  He discusses his findings with George Washington University Associate Professor of Law, David Fontana.
