About the Program
Thomas Ricks looks at why so many WWII-era generals are held in high regard, while history has not been so kind to generals who commanded troops during later wars. During this event, hosted by the Center for a New American Security, Mr. Ricks will be interviewed by Foreign Policy magazine editor in chief, Susan Glasser.
Thomas Ricks, who previously covered the U.S. military for the Washington Post and the Wall Street Journal, is a senior fellow at the Center for a New American Security. Mr. Ricks writes The Best Defense blog on Foreign Policy magazine's website. He is the author of "The Gamble" and "Fiasco," both of which cover the U.S. military's experience in Iraq since 2003.
