Ethan Chorin, a diplomat who served as an economic and commercial attache in Tripoli from 2004 to 2006, talks about the background to the 2011 uprisings in Libya.  This event was hosted by the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs in New York City.     

About the Authors

Ethan Chorin

Ethan Chorin, currently a fellow at the Yale School of Management, served as a diplomat in Tripoli from 2004 to 2006. He is the co-founder of the Avicenna Group, an NGO helping to build a trauma center in Benghazi. Mr. Chorin is the author of "Translating Libya."
