From the 17th annual Texas Book Festival on the Capitol Grounds in Austin, Texas, a panel on drugs and the border, featuring Hipolito Acosta, The Shadow Catcher: A U.S. Agent Infiltrates Mexico's Deadly Crime Cartels and C.A. Heifner, Mule: My Dangerous Life as a Drug Smuggler Turned DEA Informant. The event is moderated by Ricardo Ainsile, professor in the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Texas.

About the Authors

Hipolito Acosta

Over his 30 year career with the U.S. government, Hipolito Acosta worked for the Department of Homeland Security, the Immigration & Naturalization Service, and the U.S. Border Patrol.  Most recently, Mr. Acosta served as district director of the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Citizenship and Immigration Services in Houston.  For more information, visit hipolitoacosta.com.
