Rep. John Lewis (D-GA) presents lessons he learned as a leader of the civil rights movement.  Rep. Lewis, who was chairman of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) recalls his life of activism in the hopes of imparting his experience upon a new generation of activists. Hosted by Politics & Prose Bookstore in Washington, DC.     
 

About the Authors

Rep. John Lewis

John Lewis was elected to Congress in November, 1986 and represents Georgia's Fifth Congressional District. He is a member of the House Ways and Means Committee where he serves on the Subcommittee on Health and Subcommittee on Oversight. Congressman Lewis was the Chairman of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee from 1963 to 1966.
