"It Worked For Me: In Life and Leadership"

Colin Powell

About the Program

Colin Powell, retired four-star general and former Secretary of State recounts his military and political career through a collection of 44 remembrances that impart Gen. Powell’s thoughts on life and leadership.   Gen. Powell weaves his “Thirteen Rules” for life throughout the many stories he has collected, from “don’t let adverse facts stand in the way of a good decision” to “you can’t make someone else’s choices – you shouldn’t let someone else make yours.”  Colin Powell speaks with Robert Siegel, senior host of NPR’s All Things Considered at Sixth and I Historic Synagogue in Washington, D.C.
