Fawaz Gerges is professor of international relations at the London School of Economics and Political Science and the director of its Middle Eastern Centre.  He is the author of several books, including "America and Political Islam: Clash of Cultures or Clash of Interests?" and "The Far Enemy: Why Jihad Went Global."
