Steven Jaffe

About the Program

Steven Jaffe recounts the attacks on New York City, from its earliest days as a Dutch trading outpost through the 19th and 20th century.   The author examines how each conflict affected the city, including the American Revolution, when 18,000 American prisoners of war died in British prisons to an explosion in a harbor freight depot executed by German agents prior to the U.S. participation in World War I.  Steven Jaffe speaks at the Tenement Museum in New York City.
